School Seminar Series No .04
School : J/Madduvil Kamalasani Vidyalayam
A seminar with field work, based on the National Curriculum, was conducted by the Jaffna Entomological Society (JES) on the request of the Principal, Mr. K. Santhirakumar, J/Madduvil Kamalasani Vidyalayam.
The beneficiaries of this programme were junior secondary students (Grades 6–11), and the seminar was organized under the theme “Biodiversity and Value of Ecosystems.”
The event was held on 12th September 2025, from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., at the Department of Zoology, University of Jaffna. A total of 89 students actively participated in the seminar and the associated field work. Four teachers were accompanied with the students.
The seminar was inaugurated by the Senior Professor S. Noble Surendran, President Elect/JES who emphasized the importance of understanding biodiversity and ecosystems in the context of sustainable living and education.

The seminar provided students with both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure. At the conclusion, students shared their feedback, which indicated a high level of satisfaction and a deeper appreciation of the importance of biodiversity and the value of ecosystems.
